Creating memories.....one vacation at a time!

 SCICLI

We left Ragusa heading to Agrigento and visited several towns along the way.   We first stopped at Scicli which was 16 miles from Ragusa in the Val di Noto.  This UNESCO Heritage town has been a location in many films.  The town dates back to the 3rd BC and was destroyed in the 1693 earthquake and was rebuilt in the baroque style.  It was a charming town to walk around.  The town has many churches, palazzos and it’s Via Francesco Mormino Penna street is considered one of the most beautiful streets in Sicily.

Scicli also had some wonderful shops.  The Moor’s heads (2nd photo) were some of the best that I saw on the trip.  I first became aware of them when I watched “White Lotus Sicily”.
