	INSIDER’S TOUR TO TAHITI WITH DIERDRA “DIDI” MCELROY

TAHITI
Sunday, March 6
Fly from Los Angeles International Airport to Papeete, Tahiti, on Air Tahiti Nui. International air is not included in the land price. Call for pricing.

Monday, March 7
Arrive in Tahiti in the morning and transfer to the Intercontinental Resort Tahiti for 3 nights. In the afternoon, Didi will lecture on the Tahitian tifaifai and on Tahiti at Cafe Taina. (Gardenview room).

Evening: Roundtrip transfer to the Papeete Wharf for dinner at the roulottes (dinner at your own expense).

Tuesday, March 8
All-day Circle Island tour of Tahiti with lunch, including the Maraa Fern Grotto, One Tree Hill, Point Venus, the Blowhole, and Vaipahi Waterfall. Includes lunch and admission to Tahiti and Her Islands Museum.

Wednesday, March 9
Roundtrip transfer to downtown Papeete.
Walking tour with Didi of Papeete, including Marche Papeete (municipal market), Robert Wan Black Pearl Museum, black pearl shops and Didi’s favorite fabric shops.

MOOREA
Thursday, March 10
Transfer to the dock in Papeete. Armeti Ferry transfer to Moorea (9:45 am - arrive 10:25 am) and transfer to the Inter-continental Moorea Resort & Spa for 5 nights. Includes pay 3/stay 5, free breakfast and wireless Internet. Afternoon at your leisure to explore the resort and the beautiful lagoons of Moorea. (Lanai room)

Friday, March 11
Picnic on the motu and Ray Feeding

Evening: Visit Tiki Village and experience life in a traditional Tahitian village. You’ll see the making of heis (flower crowns), see tattooing, carving, and pareo painting. After the tour, you’ll enjoy a traditional dinner and fire dance show.

Saturday, Monday, March 12
Private tour of Moorea. Explore Belvedere Viewpoint, Opunohu Bay and the Agricultural College where you’ll find a variety of tropical plants native to Polynesia. You’ll also stop at a pineapple plantation and visit a juice factory. With various ancient ruins to discover, this excursion will expose you to Polynesian culture while offering some of the most beautiful panoramic views on the island.

Sunday, March 13
Didi’s All-day Tifaifai Design Workshop. Didi will help you design and make a tifaifai to commemorate your trip to Tahiti.

Monday, March 14
Half-day Applique Workshop. Didi will help you applique your tifaifai.

Tuesday, March 15
Morning and afternoon at leisure. Late afternoon Air Tahiti flight to Papeete. Depart Papeete in the evening aboard Air Tahiti Nui. International airfare not included in land price.

Wednesday, March 16
Arrive Los Angeles in the morning.



	Dierdra “Didi” McElroy is an internationally recognized quilt artist specializing in technique and hand workmanship. She has produced a video and book entitled “The Perfect Stitch” ™, written numerous magazine articles, developed the Roxanne brand name. These products have had a significant impact on the quilting world. Didi’s work has been viewed at every major quilt show in the United States. She was the Featured Artist at the Houston International Quilt Festival in 2003. She was a guest twice on Alex Anderson’s popular program “Simply Quilts” which aired on the Home & Garden channel. Didi graduated from Texas A&M University. Because of her training at the university, she brought her knowledge of Biomedical Science into the quilting world. She shows her students how to create tiny perfect stitches without stressing their joints and tendons or aggravating pre-existing conditions, such as Carpal Tunnel syndrome. Her talent for breaking complicated tasks down into very manageable steps insures her students’ success and makes her a highly sought after instructor. Anyone can join Didi on this 8-night Tahiti and Moorea adventure!
Didi lived in Paea, Tahiti and fell in love with the islands and their people. It was there that Didi learned to applique the Tahitian quilt, the Tifaifai.   She wants to show you her Tahiti as only someone who once lived in Tahiti can.   She will take you to her special places and explain to you all about Tahiti and the Tifaifai.   She will expose you to the magic that is Tahiti - the fragrances, the flowers, the lagoons, the vibrant colors and the beautiful scenery. Didi will also conduct an all-day workshop and a half-day applique workshop and she will help you design your very own Tifaifai to commemorate your visit to Tahiti and Moorea.

You don’t have to be a quilter to join this group and couples are welcome. All that is required is that you have a curious mind and a desire to learn more about Tahiti and Tahitian quilting. This is the perfect trip for quilters, non-quilters, spouses and friends. If you like to travel with a small group then this trip is for you.
