The fifth "Insider's Tour to Tahiti" is now history.  Fifteen of us flew to Tahiti and the group spent three nights on Tahiti and five nights on Moorea at the InterContinental Resorts. Once again we were led by Dierdra McElroy, a well-known quilter who specializes in the Tahitian quilt known as  the "tifaifai", and her Tahitian husband, Heinui Hanere.   Didi and Heinui are wonderful guides, recalling their lives growing up in Tahiti and Moorea and they introduced our group to a side of Tahiti that tourists rarely see.  It was great fun hanging out with Heinui's family and having them also show things about their Tahiti.   My thanks to Beth, Tina, Kim and Bill for contributing their photos to this project and if you have any other photos you would like to contribute, please e-mail them to me so I can add them.  It is my hope that this photo journal will bring back some wonderful memories to you about the great week we all spent together and the fun times we had.   Let the adventure begin again by clicking on the Tahiti button above.

Our group met at LAX and they came from all over the United States - northern and southern California, New Mexico, Washington, Minnesota, and Michigan.
