Litchfield National Park is 75 miles south of Darwin.  The park has monsoonal forests, waterfalls, rocky sandstone escarpments, swimming holes (billabongs), and Magnetic and Cathedral termite mounds and prehistoric plants called cycads. It's a great place to go for a day trip.

Florence Falls

Above and right:   Buley Rockpool.  This is a series of waterfalls and rockholes and it is great place
 to cool down.

One of the amazing things to see when you are in the Northern Territory are the Cathedral (left) & Magnetic mounds (above) made from termite poop and saliva. Those termites are very, very busy!  Recycling at its finest!
