Islamorada

Any travel agent can issue a ticket or book a cruise . . .
We create Travel Experiences . . . that extra effort is our hallmark!

Islamorada, or "the Purple Isles" was named by the Spanish explorers and is called the "Sportfishing Capital of the World".  Flanked by the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the Florida Bay on the other, Islamorada consists of four islands: Plantation, Windley, and Upper and Lower Matecumbe Keys.

A must see in this area is Robbie's Boat Rentals where you can hand feed giant tarpon.

Great eating abounds in the Keys.  One of our favorites is the Islamorada Fish Company where you can buy fresh fish (below) or dine in their outdoor restaurant.

The Theater of the Sea (below and lower left) is a marine mammal adventure park which offers guided marine life tours, "bottomless" boat rides and sea lion and dolphin shows.  Visitors can also participate in a swim program with the dolphins.

One of the most unique places to shop in the Keys is at Worldwide Sportsman in Islamorada (above and left).   It's a huge store which focuses on outdoor life and even has Ernest Hemingway's boat, Pilar inside and a bar that is dedicated to Zane Grey.
