Chateauneuf-en-Auxois

Any travel agent can issue a ticket or book a cruise . . .
We create Travel Experiences . . . that extra effort is our hallmark!

The tiny hillside town of Chateauneuf-en-Auxois is like going back to the Middle Ages.  The chateau was built in the 12th century by Philippe Pot, a knight of the "Toison d'or" (Golden Fleece) and the village grew up around it and overlooks the rolling farmland as far as the eye can see. The chateau is a fine example of medieval architecture and has a chapel decorated with wall paintings.  Many of the houses date from the 14th and 15th century and today only about 80 people live in the village.

Charming hotels abound throughout Burgundy.  One of our favorite places to dine - Hostellerie du Chateau.  The restaurant serves classical Burgundy fare - roasted Epoisses (local cow's milk cheese) on a salad bed with walnuts, noisettes of lamb with thyme,  and coq au vin, are just some of their  wonderful choices.

The Hostellerie is also a hotel.  Here is the lobby.
