Cairo, Egypt

Any travel agent can issue a ticket or book a cruise . . .

Steve and Sally flew into Cairo a day early and spent the time exploring Cairo with a private guide from Lindblad Expeditions. Their guide was one of Lindblad's Egyptologists and took them to Old Coptic Cairo, the Coptic Museum, St. Serguis Coptic Church and Ben Ezra Synagogue and the Khan El Khalili Bazaars.   When the rest of the group arrived, they toured the Egyptian Museum, Old Islamic Cairo, the Citadel, El Rifaii, and the Mohamed Ali Mosque and the Khan el Khalili Bazaars.  Then they flew to Luxor where their Nile cruise on Lindblad's Triton and their tour of southern Egypt began.

In Cairo they visited the Khan el Khalili, a maze of bazaars with rich leather goods, hand-worked gold and fragrant spices.  Description provided by Lindblad Expeditions.

Picture of Cairo Steve took from the Citadel of Saladin, a fortress located on a high hill overlooking Cairo.

Steve's photo of a Cairo sunrise over the Nile was taken from the Four Seasons where they stayed. Right - a picture inside the Four Seasons.

Sunrise on the Nile and a minaret.

Our thanks to Steve & Sally for sharing their amazing photos with us.
