We took a bus tour to Maso Roveri Vineyards along the Adige River about 20 miles north of Verona.  The Dolomites (Italian Alps) are in the background.  The Italians harvest their grapes by hand, and grow them high to facilitate cutting.  The valley was narrow yet held the river, a major train line, the autostrada, and a state highway. In many places, the vineyards were on narrow terraces up the hillside.
