Ponte Vecchio is over the Arno River in Florence.
The bridge is interesting because of all the jewelry shops that line both sides. The tan-colored structure above the protuding shops is an enclosed walkway. It was built by the Pitti family and went from the Uffizzi (offices) along the Arno, across the bridge, and then a couple of blocks further to their palace. We're talking money and power here!
