Tour of Koromakawa Village

Any travel agent can issue a ticket or book a cruise . . .
We create Travel Experiences . . . that extra effort is our hallmark!

After the kava ceremony, the group is taken on a tour of the village.  The first stop was the unearthening of our lovo lunch which was cooked underground.

There is a preschool at the village and some of the children are educated there. Here the children and their teacher sang to the group.

Fijians make tapa cloth by stenciling the flattened bark from the mulberry tree.

Many items are made out of the leaves of the pandanus tree.  Here the weaver shows us how the weaving is done.

Marika showed us what plants, vegetables and herbs the villagers use  and we were shown  how to open a coconut and drink the milk.

After the tour, we went back to the bure and lunch was served and afterwards we enjoyed dancing with our hosts and hostesses.

The women of the village sell their arts and crafts to the group.

Fijians love to do a meke - dancing and singing - and they love sharing this with visitors to their village.
