Evening at the Roulottes

Each evening along the waterfront in Papeete the colorful roulottes appear.  These are vans that have been converted into food vans.  The food is wonderful, the atmosphere is great and it gives you a chance to mingle with the locals.   Some evenings a Tahitian band will be playing in the gazebo.  This is a must for every traveler to Tahiti! Our group took Le Truck from the Beachcomber into Papeete and had dinner there.  Food choices are pizza, chinese, steak, veal, seafood, crepes, ice cream and belgium waffles!

The local transportation is called Le Truck and is inexpensive and a fun way to get around Papeete. Didi taught the group how to get around like the locals!

At Chez Chim's stand - cooking veal over an open fire.   Delicious!

Eating with the locals and dining at one of the roulottes on the wharf.

The best way to finish your meal is with the wonderful Tahitian ice cream or a belgium waffle topped with ice cream.
