The Fa'aurumai Waterfalls

As we continued down the coastal road, we came to the Fa'aurumai Waterfalls (PK 22.3, Tiarei). There are three falls here but we only went to the first waterfall - Vaimahutu - which falls 100 feet down to a pool. Because of the time of the tour (rainy season), the waterfall was seen at its best.  It is set in a rain forest and there is a river which traverses through the rainforest.   If you walk another 20 minutes, you will come to two other falls - Haamaremare iti and Haamaremare rahi.  

The waterfall is too tall to get it all in one picture!  The roar of the falls still stays with us today.
