Long Beach is a great place to spend a weekend. The city has a mild Mediterranean climate, miles of shoreline, a beautiful waterfront, a downtown marina, the Aquarium of the Pacific, two museums, thirty miles of bike paths, five miles of sandy beaches, great restaurants and some wonderful neighborhoods to explore. And if that wasn't enough, it is also the home to the Queen Mary and the new Carnival Cruise Terminal. So even if you don't want to take a cruise, Long Beach itself is worth exploring.

Long Beach is a city of 45,000 and is located 45 miles south of Los Angeles. You can drive there, or fly into Los Angeles International Airport or

The Queen Mary, built in the 1930's, is docked at the Long Beach Pier and is now a hotel. Right next door is the new Carnival Cruise Line Terminal so you can stay at the Queen Mary and then board your ship the next day! To learn more about the Queen Mary, click on the button above.

Queen Mary Seaport now has the Queen Mary Hotel and Carnival's new cruise terminal. The Cruise Terminal is housed in the former dome for Howard Hughes' Spruce Goose. You can now do 3-, 4- & 7-night cruises to Baja and the Mexican Riveria on Carnival and Princess from Long Beach. The heart of Long Beach is Pine Avenue where historic buildings have been made into outdoor cafes, entertainment venues and shops. It is also close to City Plaza Shopping Center and East Village which is becoming an artist's village.

Long Beach has over 5 miles of beaches for you to play on.




	Getting around Long Beach is easy with their complimentary purple buses and their Passport Buses which run in the downtown area. The Los Angeles Metro rail also stops in Long Beach.



				*The Aqua Bus and the Aqua Link provide water-taxi service between the Long Beach pier and the rest of Long Beach.*


	*The Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific has exhibits on the California Coast and Baja, and a Shark & Manta Lagoon where you can pet these amazing creatures.*


	It's fun to visit Shoreline Village's shops and restaurants. They have a restaurant there called the Yard House which boasts of having the world's largest selection of draft beers!

	*Marinas abound in this area and you can take cruises of the harbors or dine in a restaurant and have wonderful seafood.*
