South Australia

Any travel agent can issue a ticket or book a cruise . . .
We create Travel Experiences . . . that extra effort is our hallmark!

South Australia is located in the south central portion of Australia and is Australia's fourth largest state.   The state is home to 1.2 million people, 1 million of which live in the capital of Adelaide. The state has 2,300 miles of coastline and Adelaide's metropolitan beaches stretch unbroken for 18 miles.

FOUR SEASONS

  Summer - Dec., Jan., Feb.

   Fall - March, April, May

  Winter - June, July Aug.

   Spring - Sept., Oct., Nov.

The state is renowned for its wine growing areas - the Barossa Valley, Clare Valley, Coonawarra and McLaren Vale. It is also the home of Kangaroo Island which is 70 miles southwest of Adelaide and one of the prime spots for viewing Australian wildlife in a natural setting.  North of Adelaide lies the Flinders Ranges, the famous Prairie Hotel, Wilpena Pound and the Outback and the unique opal-mining town of Coober Pedy where the summer temperatures can reach up to 122 degrees and most of the residents live underneath the ground!    The Murray River flows into South Australia from Victoria and Coorong National Park is a water-bird sanctuary that rivals Kakadu National Park in the Northern Territory.  The state has four seasons and the summers in Adelaide can range from 82 to 63 degrees and the winters range from 61 to 46 degrees.

In 2007 South Australia will host the Great Australian Outback Cattle Drive which takes 500 head of cattle and 150 horses from Maree to Oodnadatta along the Oodnadatta Track from May 5 to June 10, 2007.  Join the Australian drovers on this cattle drive and live the fantasy of being a cowboy in the Australian Outback!
