Brisbane, the City of Sun Days,  is Australia's only subtropical capital city.  It is home to 1.6 million people and is the third largest city in Australia.   Brisbane is a great location to explore the Gold or Sunshine Coast, Moreton Bay, or Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo.  The city is  divided by the Brisbane River and offers a range of leisure attractions focused along or on the river.  The city has a good street cafe scene, thriving nightlife, theatres, cinemas, concert halls, galleries, museums and some interesting districts.   It is a wonderful place for families - check out The Gold Coast, Moreton and the Sunshine Coast below.

Conrad Treasury Brisbane is a hotel and casino housed in Brisbane's historic Treasury Building.

South Bank Parklands is located across the Brisbane River and is Australia's only inland city beach with tree-lined boulevards, the Australian Wildlife Sanctury, IMAX cinema, restaurants, cafes and entertainment venues.

Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary was founded in 1927 and is the world's oldest and largest Koala Sanctuary.  It is located in the Brisbane suburb of Fig Tree Pocket and the animals here include koalas, kangaroos, Tasmanian Devils, wombats, echidnas, reptiles and many different birds.  You can still cuddle a koala or hug a snake here!

Brisbane City Botanic Gardens offers a lovely respite within the city.

Queensland Art Gallery and Museum is just one museum you might want to visit.  The other would be the Maritime Museum.
