THE HUNTER VALLEY
The Hunter Valley is a 2-hour drive north of Sydney and an excellent area to spend a night or two or go for a long day trip. The area has more than a hundred wineries and also
supports a burgeoning olive industry. There are also art galleries and antique shops that are worth exploring.
The desolate landscape surrounding Broken Hill has made the town a mecca for artists and film makers.

Broken Hill is billed as "The Accessible Outback" and
is the biggest mining town in Australia. Located in far west New South Wales, the town has a population of 21,000 and has been called a "Living Museum". In 2006, Broken Hill's last mine, the Pasminco Mine will close. The town is known for it's many historic buildings, it's mines and the desert that surrounds the town.
