HEAVEN'S GREEN ANGEL
I wonder if you're out there
Looking down on me,
I wonder if you're resting
Beneath the ripples of the sea.
I wonder if there are greater things
Or if it's all a lie,
I wonder why it couldn't be
Another man to die.
Our future is unclear now
For who will lead the way?
Your earth and family need you
Couldn't you have stayed?
In you I saw a person,
The person that I am,
Friends we were through T.V.,
I was your greatest fan.
How odds could be so painful
Your death was so unfair,
Your killer so ungrateful
And harmless at first stare.
We'll have to do without you
Now an angel in the sky,
Though we will always miss you
For you never said goodbye.
And although you're gone you'll still live on
As the legend we knew you'd be,
Your mission now cut short
Will carry on through me.
I wish I could have met you,
I wish you could have met me,
I wish I could have seen your zoo
And personality.
I wish I could have met your wife
While your light still lit her eyes,
I wish we could have shared our thoughts
About our changing skies.
I now shall say goodbye my friend
Although your story is not over,
I'll never understand why the heavens picked
Our greenest four-leaf clover.
Just know that I and those you've impacted
Will carry your message on,
For wildlife warriors we shall be
Although a piece of us is gone.
