Napa Valley, CA is the premiere wine region in California and is known throughout the world for it's fine wines. The valley began in the 1850's as a gold-rush center and the original grapevine cuttings were supplied by priests
from the missions at Sonoma and San Rafael.
The greatest concentration of wineries that are open to the public are concentrated along Highway 29 which passes through Napa, Yountville, Oakville, Rutherford, St. Helena and Calistoga. Besides wine tasting and touring wineries, you can also go bicycle riding, take a hot air balloon ride, relax at a spa, shop till you drop, eat in a fine restaurant or stay in a wonderful hotel or bed and breakfast.
