If you are looking for a special place in the Bay Area to get away for a night, romantic weekend or during the week,  then you might want to consider the Lafayette Park Hotel & Spa in Lafayette. The hotel is nestled in the hills of Lafayette, and is 20 miles from San Francisco and is near the business centers of Walnut Creek, Concord, San Ramon and Oakland and is right off of Interstate 680. Getting away to the Lafayette Park Hotel & Spa for a night, a weekend or a week is like running off to France for a quick visit.  Not only is this hotel excellent for individuals but it also has 15,000 square feet of meeting space for 10 to 300 guests.  It also is an excellent place to consider for weddings and receptions. 

The Lafayette Park Hotel & Spa is the Bay Area's only Mobil Four-Star Hotel, American Academy Five-Star Diamond Award, and is a member of the Woodside Hotels and Resorts, which is Northern California's Premier Hotel Group.

In the third courtyard, there is a 50-foot heated swimming pool, whirlpool spa and sauna , poolside cafe, outdoor fireplace and a state-of-the-art Fitness Pavillion.

Renowned for its French-Norman architecture, the Lafayette Park Hotel features French antiques, art, tapestries and sculptures and combines California comfort with European elegance. Reminiscent of the classical inns of Europe, the rooms surround separate courtyards. The first grand courtyard boasts a hand-carved Italian limestone obelisk fountain (upper left) and in the second courtyard there is a stone wishing well.  

The 140 guest rooms have European-style duvet bed coverings, custom-made, cherrywood desks and armoires, and Italian granite baths with plush terry robes.  Some of the rooms have wood-burning fireplaces, vaulted ceilings, and parlor areas.  All rooms have spa amenities, CD Players, iron and ironing boards and the rooms range in size from 460 square feet.  

The hotel also has the The Duck Club Restaurant which is highly acclaimed for its duck specialties and innovative, regional American cuisine (below left).  It has been awarded the "Best Restaurant in the East Bay" for two years and is a AAA Four-Diamond restaurant.   The bartender at the Duck Club has been awarded the award for  mixing the "Best Martini" for the past two years.   There is also a Bistro at the Park, which has great food, beers, wines and cocktails (below).
