If you are looking for a great place to stay around Mt. Hood, Oregon, we have the ideal place for you. A friend of ours has a ski cabin in Government Camp, Oregon which is 12 miles from Mt. Hood and an hour drive from Portland, Oregon. It is an ideal place for a family because the cabin can sleep 10 people and is very comfortable. While there you might want to drive to Timberline Lodge which is only short ride away and a great place to go skiing, snowboarding, have dinner or lunch or just visit this historic landmark.




	Erick's ski cabin is a short walk away from the small town of Government Camp. The town is the gateway to several ski areas - Timberline Lodge, Mt. Hood Ski Bowl and Summit Ski Bowl which is located in Government Camp.

WHY DO THEY CALL IT GOVERNMENT CAMP?

In 1849 an army party was forced to abandon 45 wagons and supplies in this area when they hit heavy October snows. They set up a camp that early travelers referred to as "Government Camp". The name stuck and the village is still called Government
Camp today.

	*Off the living room is this bedroom which has two bunk beds.*



		*Next to that bedroom is the master bedroom with TV with a queen bed which also has a small deck (right).*



*Up some narrow stairs is a sleeping area with three more beds.*


		*The kitchen is well-stocked with appliances. All you have to do is supply the food!*



*On the second floor is another bedroom with a bunk bed and a twin bed.*




	*This is the bathroom on the second floor. It has a toilet and a shower. The bathroom on the first floor has a toilet, sink and a shower/bath combination.*
